This painting was the most important painting I have ever done. My pap painted watercolor painting of of two fawn for a #pennsylvaniawildlife week in 8th grade 1951! He asked me to recreate his painting in my own style for him so that's what I did. Today I gave him the painting I did and he absolutely loved it.
Nobody in my family has the artistic eye except my pap and I. I remember being a child and admiring that painting he did and always asked to see it when I came over. The story never got old to this day I love hearing him tell me about the experience he has painting it. So when he asked me to recreate it I was honored! I never worked with water color so this was a learning curve for me...he always pushes me to learn new things without even knowing he does. He has always been one of my biggest supporter with my art and I think one reason I paint is because I know it makes him proud. I'm glad him and I get to share this artistic experience together!
My pap is one of the best men in my life and I'm so grateful to have the chance to get to know and to grow with such an amazing man in my life.
Today he decided to give me the painting he did all those years ago...I will cherish this moment for the rest of my life and hopefully get to have our paintings recreated in a new generation of our family. #watercolor#pennsylvania#deerpainting#nature#naturepainting#painterslife#paintingsofinstagram#paint#watercolorpainting#paintingfamily#family#pap#artreference#art#artist#artsy#artstyle#artlife
